Beginner's Guide to Roco Kingdom: World
Everything new players need to know — from first login to your first team build.
Overview
Want to avoid detours and get started quickly in Roco Kingdom: World? This beginner guide gives you the most practical route, team ideas, and mistakes to avoid. Follow it, and you can steadily push through the early game to level 30+.
1. How to choose at the start: starter spirits and academy
Starter spirit recommendation: If you are a complete beginner, just pick Spark — the Fire-type starter. It has high burst damage, clears maps quickly, counters many Grass-type enemies in the early game, and gives the smoothest beginner experience.
Bluewater — Water-type — has strong sustain and performs well in later PvP. Meowmeow — Grass-type — has built-in healing and higher mistake tolerance, making it suitable for stable players or players who are not very familiar with the controls.
Academy choice: If you want better farming efficiency, choose the Battle Academy. If you like social features and resource discounts, choose the Yidian Academy. If you prefer gathering and crafting, choose the Alchemy Academy.
2. The golden first 48 hours: rush to level 30 fast
Prioritize the main story + Magic Handbook: After entering the game, follow the main story first. Once you unlock the Magic Handbook, complete all courses in one go. This is one of the biggest sources of early-game experience.
Do not get stuck on friend tasks: In Chapter 2, there are tasks that require inviting friends or visiting a friend’s home. Add enough friends as early as possible after launch. Both sides need to be friends for 5 hours before entering, so do not wait until the task blocks you.
The spending task is basically free: Later, you need to spend 1 million Rockbay at the Traveling Merchant. Go to the Ancient Coin Exchange Machine on Peter Avenue, open drawer No. 3, and directly claim 990,000 Rockbay. Combined with quest rewards, it is just enough.
Spirit collection = experience books: If you meet a spirit you have not caught before, catch it. Capturing gives +100 EXP. Catching one with Excellent Talent gives another +100 EXP. Evolving it gives +600 EXP. One spirit can provide up to 800 EXP, which is much faster than grinding monsters.
Use stamina efficiently:
Rare Beast Flower Stages: Prioritize stages where you have not unlocked the spirit entry yet, so you can gain experience while filling the collection.
Boss Spirits: Spirit icons shown on the map are boss challenges. They consume stamina but give a large amount of experience and valuable spirit eggs.
3. Resource farming and core mechanics
Free rewards from Ancient Coin Machines:
Coco Fruit Plaza — beside the notice board in the center of the shopping street: open drawer No. 1 to get 120 Coco Fruits, which can quickly level up spirits.
Peter Avenue: open drawer No. 3 to get 990,000 Rockbay, required for the spending task.
King’s Castle — above the harbor camp: use Ancient Coins to open drawers and get 4 King Balls. These are essential for catching high-star god-tier spirits, so use them carefully.
Ancient Coin source: Go to the dungeon Seaside Ruins in the lower-left area of the map. You do not need to fight. Just pick up the Ancient Coins on the ground, exit, and repeat.
Catching tips
Basic method: Lower the monster’s HP before throwing a ball.
Advanced method: When you encounter evolved or high-level spirits, first charge Star Magic to stun them, then start the battle from behind. This greatly increases the capture success rate.
Level matching: If your level is more than 10 levels lower than the spirit, even if you catch it, it may “disobey” you. So prioritize raising your player level first.
4. Beginner teams and must-catch god-tier spirits
Early transition team — levels 1–20: Spark + Dimo — given by the main story — Winterfeather Sparrow — flying mount — Yajiji Duck — water mount — Kirli Flower — finisher / support.
Prioritize feeding experience to Spark and Dimo. If you meet Electric Sheep on the road, make sure to catch one. It is a map-running beast.
Utility spirits — must-have for exploration
Gentleman Chicken: Has triple jump and ignores fall damage. Catch it with a Light-Catching Ball at Chenxi Mountain.
Yajiji Duck: Early water mount. You rely on it for crossing rivers. It is a must-catch during the main story.
Sonic Hound: Rideable at level 26. Very fast for land exploration. Catch it on the western hillside of Shopping Street.
Winterfeather Sparrow / Storm Bird: Flying mount. Given at the start. Evolves into Storm Bird at level 30 and is essential for aerial exploration.
Mid-game formed teams — around level 30
Fire burst team — recommended: Fire God — Spark evolution — Firewood Bug — rare, high burn damage — Emerald-Crowned Lady — caught at Hidden Tidal Flat after level 30, provides group healing + buffs. This team is great for violent PvE map clearing.
Water endless team: Water Spirit — Bluewater evolution — Luoyin — spawns at Lanyu Peak — Emerald-Crowned Lady. Luoyin’s Dark Assault gives lifesteal and energy recovery, allowing dungeon sustain without spending many supplies.
DOT abnormal team — cheese strategy: Dudu Cauldron / Little Thornhead (likely Thousand-Spike Helm). After Dudu Cauldron evolves, it learns Poison Fog, which can turn boss buff stacks into deadly poison and directly kill high-difficulty legendary spirits and bosses such as Palsas. This is a must-have cheese strategy for beginners.
5. Traps you must avoid
Do not spend Rockbay randomly: Especially the early 990,000 Rockbay. Aside from completing the spending task, try to save it for key items or facility upgrades.
Do not raise everything evenly: Prioritize resources for your starter spirit, Dimo, and main damage dealers. For spirits of the same type, only build the one with the highest quality. Release the others for materials.
Do not force-catch overleveled monsters: If the monster is much higher level than you, do not force it unless you have a King Ball. The success rate is low, and even if you catch it, it may disobey you.
Use specialties properly: When gathering or mining, put several spirits with the Love to Share specialty into your team. This can give extra output, and the effect can stack.
6. Daily task checklist — stable resources
Kingdom Patrol: Rewards 250 Rockbay + 5 EXP Fruits.
Pet Training: Rewards 2 Medium EXP Fruits + 1 Skill Stone.
Spend 15 minutes every day and you can steadily collect resources.
7. Map and exploration tips
Harbor Captain: Submit Coco Fruits to unlock teleportation to Peter Avenue.
Switch to night: Interact with the balloon NPC to open the hidden route in King’s Castle.
Water / high places: Use Water-type and Flying-type mounts to search for hidden treasure chests.
Beginner Village Ruins: Collect blue coins to exchange for rewards.
8. Small goals after finishing the early game
Around level 30, you can choose one Bond Egg.
Continue completing the full spirit collection. Prioritize catching young-stage spirits with Excellent Talent to maximize experience and resource gains.
If possible, you can ask stronger players to help you farm shiny spirits, such as Demon Wolf and Crescent Snow Bear, but remember not to waste Prism Balls carelessly.
If you are only starting now, it is still not too late. Follow this route directly, and reaching level 30 and building a formed team within two days is completely doable.
Spark start + main story handbook + catching new spirits — this is the most stable early-game three-piece combo.
